Did you know Dynamics NAV Financials now offers training and consulting?
Posted: October 9, 2017 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a comment2017 has been an amazing year, and one of the reasons for that is that I decided to work for myself as an independent trainer and business process consultant. Earlier this year, Amanda Mayer and I joined forces to form New View Strategies.
We are offering Training, specialty Microsoft Dynamics NAV Consulting, Contract Controllership and Controller Mentoring, Business Process Review, and YES – we will build your Account Schedules and Jet Reports.
We’ve had a great time this year already doing a lot of training and consulting for companies who were looking for some additional help from former Corporate Controllers who specialize in Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
Check out the New View Strategies site for more information, or reach out to us directly on the Contact Page. We’ll be happy to discuss your project and how we can help.
Updated 50 Tips in 50 Minutes Video Library
Posted: October 8, 2017 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentHard to believe that I’ve been doing the 50 Tips in 50 Minutes presentation at NAVUG Summit for the fifth year in a row! The session has become so popular, that for the first year ever, I actually get the privilege of presenting the session twice in 2017.
I’ve decided to consolidate all the tips so far into a single place so you can find them more easily instead of by year. They’re all listed below, and you can always go to the Popular Series tab on the main menu to find them, as well as other frequently visited series like Account Schedules 101 and 15 Days of Dimensions.
Most of the videos were recorded in NAV 2013 with a few in NAV2015. In the next three months, I’ll be updating all the videos to Dynamics NAV 2017, along with adding about a dozen brand new tips.
Enjoy!

Where will you find me at NAVUG Summit 2015 in Reno?
Posted: October 9, 2015 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentIt’s that magical time of year again when NAV users and partners get together to network and learn about the software we all use every day! I’ll be attending again this year, which will be my 8th year in a row, which is pretty hard to believe. It’s been an amazing journey to see this group that was pretty darn small back in 2008 become an amazing premiere event in 2015.
Here’s where you’ll find me during next week’s conference:
Monday – Attending a NAVUG Academy class on Jet Reports Product Suite Training. I’m kicking off the week by sharpening my saw. I love teaching and training, but I also love to learn new things myself, so I’m looking forward to refreshing what I already know about Jet.
Tuesday – Teaching a NAVUG Academy Class on Account Schedules for Dynamics NAV. This day is my favorite day of the year because I get to spend an entire day with a group of people who want to talk about Accounts Schedules! This will now be my 6th year teaching this class and it’s always amazing to help people solve their financial reporting needs by using software they already own in a more robust way.
Wednesday – Presenting 50 Tips in 50 Minutes in the Finance track. As it does every year, this one hour session goes fast! If you want to pick up some new tips for your own use or to bring back to your coworkers at the office, this is the place to do it. The entire session is LIVE DEMO covering all the tips lightning fast and there are 1-3 minute videos posted on this blog that you can view later when you’re back at home.
Taking the new Dynamics NAV Certification Exam from the Association of Dynamics Professionals. You might know that Microsoft discontinued all certifications for NAV and GP products about this time last year. What you might not know is there’s a new certification program that’s just emerged and they’ll be offering the exam at a reduced rate at NAVUG Summit! I’ve roped a couple of my co-workers in to take the test with me, come join us! http://www.navugsummit.com/event/certification
Thursday – Presenting the Wide World of Web Based Dynamics NAV Resources in the Community Resources track. This session will take a grand tour of resources you can find on the Web to help you get the answers you need about NAV when you need them.
Bowling! at the FastPath Summit Bash being held at the National Bowling Stadium. Good clean fun. Great people.
Friday – Presenting What Works for Women at Work in the Business Leadership track. This session is a continuation of the discussion we started at NAVUG Summit two years ago about gender equality. Since talking about Lean In and The Confidence Code, the cross-UG Women in Dynamics group has also been formed.
I’ll be attending many sessions as well – stay tuned for an update on my picks for next week.
In between times you’ll find me at the ilovenav booth, the Innovia Consulting booth in the Expo or the Innovia Consulting networking hub (Watch for the NAV Medics), the Microsoft Dynamics NAV help desk, or just circulating and talking to as many amazing members of my NAV tribe as possible!
See you in Reno!
