Financial Setups class being offered Wednesday, June 17thPosted: June 8, 2015 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a comment
I’m offering a class on Financial Setups next week through NAVUG Academy! This class is a great way to get familiar with the financial setup requirements of your NAV system for the first time, or as a refresher because it’s been a while since you set up the database you already have. It’s also a great way to fit in those CPE credits!
I’ve got four more classes I’ll be offering this year as well on a wide variety of topics. Check out my 2015 classes page for more details on how you can learn more about account schedules, financial setups, posting groups and dimensions, greater optimization of finance features, and month end, year end, and budgeting.
Financial Setups in NAV2015
Instructor-led training on-line!
Get under the hood to understand the inner workings of financial setups in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This class covers all the basics you need to understand for how the financial management area can be configured. Whether you’re new to NAV, a prospective customer deciding if NAV is the right fit for your company, a Controller or CFO who is new to a company already using NAV, or even an experienced NAV user who wants to know how to maximize your software, this class will get you the foundation you need to make important configuration decisions regarding your ERP software.
Focus on financial considerations like understanding and using posting groups, choosing dimensions, set up of master records for customers, vendors, and items, why number series are important, and what the options are for financial reporting. Understand what options are available to you related to budgeting, intercompany transactions and consolidations, and month end close and get a tour of best practices related to journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Preparation: The detailed instructions for connecting and attending the class will be sent one to two days prior to class. Students have the option of connecting to the class via conference call or VOIP. If using VOIP, a headset with a microphone is strongly recommended. If your instructor will use the hands-on training environment you will receive a separate email with the setup instructions, and a dual monitor is strongly recommended to facilitate navigation.
Delivery Method: Group Internet-based
CPE Credits: By participating in this class you are eligible to earn up to 4 CPE credits which will be distributed automatically following class completion. Class participation will be monitored and you will not receive CPE credit for any portion of the class that you do not appear fully engaged.
